The K-Pak Story
Many years ago, my good friend Robie and I scouted and found what looked like a good spot on a local lake to go duck hunting. We borrowed an old canoe and then devised a system for attaching it to the roof of Robie’s car so that it would likely arrive when we did and hopefully with only minor scratches and dents to his vehicle.
Our trek to the lake was memorable. We had to stop many times along the way, to rest, change hands, and warm frozen fingers. The canoe was heavy! By the time we arrived, we were both sweating pretty hard which has a serious chilling affect once you stop moving.
The trip back to the car seemed to take even longer but it gave me time to think that there had to be a better way. What if you had a folding boat that you carry on your back? Think of all the places you could get to where others couldn’t.After years of planning, dabbling with sketches, making prototypes and then testing them, the results are the K-PAK and the Folding Boat Company.
The K-PAK is strong, stout, and light. It is portable, comfortable to operate, and takes just 4-5 minutes to assemble with a small amount of practice. It is constructed from the best materials available today and can be taken anywhere, and used for leisurely paddling, sightseeing, fishing, hunting, or photography.We hope you will enjoy using our boats as much as we do.
