I was very disappointed in the performance and design of my kayak.

This kayak was a real problem solver for me. I love it because the design is very well thought out, from the storage, to the setup and kayaking experience.

I live in an apartment and needed something that would fit in my front hall closet, be easy to carry by myself and be comfortable to spend an afternoon on the lake in. If you've been researching portable kayaks, you know that there are a few that fit the bill. I haven't tried all of them, but the K-Pack is my favorite of the portable kayaks I've used. I thought about getting a traditional rotomolded kayak, but couldn't justify spending $30-50 a month to store it at my apartment and the hassle of getting it hoisted up on my car, secured safely and it then unloading and carrying it to the launch. It seemed like a big hassle and like it could potentially be unsafe/limit my kayaking opportunities.

I tried another brand of folding kayaks and it just wasn't a good fit for me. I'm only 5' and have trouble with sciatica which can cause my leg to go numb and eventually becomes painful. After an hour or so in the first type of folding kayak I tried, my leg went numb because the seat was uncomfortable and not adjustable. That other brand of kayak was also difficult for me to fold up and hard to carry, the strap actually left bruises on my shoulders! The backpack design on the K-pack is much better for me. The seat is exceptionally comfortable and easily adjusts. I didn't really get how important that would be to me, but after spending 4 hours on the water, I really appreciated how comfortable and supportive the seat is.

The setup took some practice and patience for me, but after a few tries, I'm able to set it up in a few minutes. The backpack is comfortable and i appreciate the pocket on the front for storing paddles/extra items. I used a small bungee cord to help hold my paddles on the pack as well. The inside of the pack also has just enough extra room for any extra items you may want to carry. The boat is also pretty easy to get folded up and back in the bag.

The experience on the water was amazing. I took it out for the first time on a day with 10mph wind and some choppy areas and it performed very well. It felt very stable and it was super comfortable. The built in spray skirt zipped design is really practical and very smart. I also really liked the side mesh pockets inside. They are great for my phone, a granola bar or just a place for accessories. The frame in the boat makes getting in and out very simple and easy compared to other folding kayaks. The tracking is impressive, the paddling experience is good and overall this is my favorite kayak I've used.

My kayak was at my door within a week of ordering, which is very impressive given a lot of the COVID related shipping and procurement challenges. I had a few questions about the product and Pete responded personally and thoroughly answered my questions within a day or so.

While I initially was nervous about the cost, I'm happy to support a small business and this is truly a one of a kind, very high quality product. I love a good deal and saving money on stuff, so I'm very tight with my money, but I really feel that this product is worth the money. I get tons of questions while I'm out on the water and I really hope more people are able to try this kayak because I'm very impressed with it.

I'd definitely recommend this product. The few criticisms I have are that the pump is a little bit loud and the written setup instructions were difficult to follow and could use revision. The video instructions were great.

I live near the Neuse river trail and the folding boat is perfect for hiking to some great fishing spots. Love the portability and quick set up!

The K-Pak is a beautifully designed boat built with quality materials. It's stable in the water and more comfortable than a typical kayak. I bought mine for urban fishing adventures in Chicago and it does the job perfectly!

Fantastic boats, easy to use, great for the trips we've been leading with Triangle Adventure Outfitters. Thanks FBC, we're definitely looking forward to many more water adventures now that we can just pack up and go!!!
