Warranty + Returns Policy
The Folding Boat Company warrants this folding boat to be free of manufacturing defects for 3 years, beginning from the date of purchase by the original owner.
This warranty is not transferable and does not apply to owner modifications. Please fill out and return your registration card immediately to start your warranty. In the event of a manufacturing defect, please contact The Folding Boat Company by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, writing to 9250 NC Hwy 42 Holly Springs, NC 27540, or calling 919-552-3686 for instructions.
The Folding Boat Company will either repair or replace, at its option, any defect, at no charge to the customer and return the repaired or replaced part, postage paid, to the customer within a reasonable period of time. All parts of your boat are covered by this warranty, including framework and skin.
While this boat is a very durable product and will withstand many years of normal use, damage from misuse or abuse is not covered by this warranty, including:
• Commercial or military use.
• Using your K-Pak in low water where bottom surface conditions consist of sharp rocks or other abrasive items.
• Dragging your K-Pak over any dry surface.
• Using your K-Pak in whitewater conditions or where it comes in contact with sharp underwater or surface objects.
• Towing your K-Pak behind a mechanically powered boat.
• Shipment of your K-Pak by other than a licensed carrier.
• Loading your K-Pak beyond the recommended safe capacity.
• Storage of the K-Pak in a “less-than-dry” condition.
• Leaving your K-Pak exposed to UV while not in use.
It should be understood that The Folding Boat Company is willing, in most cases, to help with restoring/repairing your boat without regard to how it was damaged. We understand “stuff” happens. This may require help from you in terms of shipping or material/labor costs which will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
In addition to the manufacturer’s warranty, The Folding Boat Company will refund 100% of the purchase price of any boat and accessories that are returned to us in an un-used, new condition within thirty days of receipt. If the boat has touched the water - returns will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
The customer must pay for any return shipping fees.
If the product is returned in less than new condition, The Folding Boat Company reserves the right to charge a restocking fee of an amount consistent with the boat’s condition.
We recommend that you check the product thoroughly before you use it to assure it is to your satisfaction.*
Please notify The Folding Boat Company prior to returning any item and indicate the reason for the return. Refunds will be made promptly upon receipt and inspection of the goods.
*We understand that a certain amount of dirt accumulation may occur in the assembly and testing of the boat and this will not impact the acceptability of any returned item. Flat water testing and avoidance of hard objects and landings is strongly recommended to maintain the kayak in “like new” condition.
